Step 4 – Type or Browse the Source server from where you have to migrate the SQL Database. Click on Next for creating the connection.

Source Server– It is used to identify the server name where you want to copy the SQL Database. Either you can type the path or just browse the location by clicking on the Three Dots button. The version of your SQL Server must be 2005 and beyond.

Use Window Authentication– In this the user can connect with SQL server by entering an ID and Password.

Use SQL Server Authentication- This allows the user to connect with Provided SQL Server.

  • Username- You have to enter a username in order to connect to SQL Database.
  • Password- A security key which has to beenteredin order to make an access to the SQL Server.

Step 5 – Now choose the Destination Server where you want to move SQL Database. Then Click on Next.

Destination Server– It is the server where you want to move the move the SQL Data. Similarly as you have browsed the Source Server, here also you have to follow the same procedure. Click on Three Dotsbuttons find the destination server location.

Use Windows Authentication– It allows the user to connect via Microsoft Account in windows.

Use SQL Server Authentication-It permits the user to connect to SQL Server by entering username and password.

Step 6 – Select Use the SQL Management Object method Option and Click on Next move further.

Step 7- Now you can see the Selected Database which you want to migrate. Select the Copy option and Click on Next.

Step 8 – Here you can verify the MDF file and Log File Path on the system. Click on Next to Continue.

Step 9 – Read and confirm the information here and click on Next.

Step 10 – Enter all the log events and click on Copy.

Step 11 – Select the Windows Event log and Click on Next.

Step 12 – Choose the Run Immediately Option and Click on Next.

Step 13 – Just go through once from all the options and click on Finish.

Step 14 – Here you can view the Progress Report. Finally you succeed in migrating SQL Database from one server to another.
